Chaos Daemons FAQ (1.2) is live

Games Workshop has posted a minor update to the Chaos Daemons Codex to answer questions that didn't need to be answered, and in doing so has shoved their foot down the back of their throat.  Anyone who was claiming that the revised Screamer, Flamer and new chariots were not Daemons and didn't have invulnerable saves were a bunch of idiots to begin with.  I'm just saying.  Further, most of them are Grey Night players who are sore that daemons can butt hurt them as bad as they were taking other armies until recently.

My first RTT with the Daemons in 6th edition (40K)

I've been playing the daemons regularly for a few months now; from the tail end of 5th edition through the codex update.  Today was my first RTT with the daemons.  Let me start by saying that the timing was poor for me, as I'm a huge San Francisco Giants Fan, and today was game 3 of the World Series, but I trudged on.  I went 1-1 and skipped the 3rd game in favor of the baseball game.

New Greater Daemon Models (and Chaos Furies)

Based upon what Stickmonkey writes below, and what we've already heard before we should be seeing new Daemon models within the next 3-4 months.  Who knows if this will part of a new codex or just another WD update.  The only thing that needs fixing to justify the purchase are the furies.

Also, based upon the Flyrant model I would expect to see GDs get bigger, but remain on 60mm round bases.  Looking forward to a complete redesign on the Keeper of Secrets.

Chaos Cultists

New models (packaging) is being released in November for chaos cultists.  IMHO one of the better new options in the CSM codex.  It looks like there is some repeat from the Dark Vengeance box set.  Now we just need a plague zombie box.

New Sacramento GW Store (Part 2)

I posted an article about 2 months ago foretelling the opening of the Games Workshop store in Sacramento.  The Lake Crest Village GW Store on Florin Road in the Pocket Area.  At the time the info I had was vague, but it got me thinking...  Fast forward to last Friday and I stopped by the new store the day before it was opened to check it out.  Not surprisingly, Steve Sisk, the previous manager of the Antioch store was back in Sacramento running this store.

I previously wrote that "while I wouldn't mind seeing a store nearby, I think Sacramento already has enough game stores that carry GW products.  I find this issue to be interesting, as GW sells through independent stockists, and also runs their owns stores.  When a city is served by both indys and corporate a conflict of interst arises."  I firmly stand by this opinion.

Character Nonsense or The Expendables II

I was going to post this article back before the recent 40K BRB FAQ:
"If you can't tell by the title I think that the new Character rules have a bit of nonsense thrown in that makes them laughable at times.  However, let me start by saying that I generally like the new Character rules with these exceptions:
  1. Characters taking Look Out Sir! saves for other Characters
  2. Being able to Look Out Sir! a Precision Shot with the same ease as a normal shot
  3. Monstrous Creatures being stuck in a duel with a Character
Other than that, I think the concept is great, even if some of the mechanics slow the game down a little right now."
Evidently, I was right on account of #1.  #2 is less of an issue due to the reduction in number of characters that make precision shots.

I still think #3 is bunk...
